Hello!

I'm Tari, owner of Fables & Ferns Bookstore. I'm also a licensed vet tech and a mom (of kids, dogs, cats, and lizards?).

My love of reading started with Walter Farley's The Black Stallion series and from there it only grew. Used bookstores have always been my favorite places, and I love the little bits of history tucked inside.. hidden notes, old bookmarks, and the feeling that every book already has a story.

You'll also see Sgt. Tibbs quite a bit here on the website and on our social media accounts. I feel that he should be recognized for all of the hard work he also puts into this shop. Nap duty is serious business, and no one gets it done better than he does...

About Fables & Ferns Bookstore

I started this journey online in November of 2025, and joined the pop-up world in March of 2026. Now, I am working on securing a storefront. Used bookstores have always felt magical to me. I want to create a space where readers can discover a variety of used books, connect with fellow book lovers, and find new favorites by indie & local authors.

Here's what Fables & Ferns will bring to the community:

  • Preloved books at budget-friendly prices

  • New books from local and indie authors

  • Kids activities & weekly story time

  • A cozy reading nook for readers & book clubs

  • A space for small, local businesses to pop up or host classes.

  • A foster home for a few adoptable cats from local humane societies.

  • A "study hall" with access to school/work supplies & WiFi

  • Community events & game nights

Currently, I do have a live crowdfunding campaign. This is set in place to help with some of the startup costs. You can visit the link to access the campaign and learn more. With your support, whether it's contributing to the campaign, sharing our post, or cheering us on, we're able to create a community space for everyone.
